Care Instructions
Getting the full life out of commercial linen comes down to how it's laundered. These are the manufacturers' instructions — following them is also what keeps the guarantees valid.
EcoKnit® towelling
EcoKnit is knitted, not woven, which is why it dries faster and doesn't snag. It launders like any commercial towel, with two things worth knowing:
- It dries substantially faster than cotton towelling — check your dryer cycles. Running the same cycle length you used for cotton wastes the saving and over-dries the fabric.
- Wash with other towelling, not with sheeting or microfibre.
The two-year guarantee covers frayed edges and pulled threads.
Microfibre bedding — box end quilts and covers
- Wash only with other microfibre products. Do not wash with towels or sheets.
- Do not overload the washing machine or dryer.
- Use an alkaline detergent with a pH below 11 — mild detergents.
- No bleach. Bleach aggressively degrades the fabric.
- No fabric softener. Softener coats the fibre and makes it less effective.
- Maximum wash temperature: 60°C
- Maximum dry temperature: 60°C
- Recommended drying time: around 30 minutes on a medium setting. Smaller loads need less, larger loads more.
- Do not leave quilts in the dryer for extended periods once the cycle finishes.
Why microfibre
For guest bedding, microfibre is hard to beat. It's soft as a down alternative, non-allergenic with negligible dust shedding, and strong enough to withstand high-volume wash and dry cycles. It washes and dries faster than cotton or down, comes out close to wrinkle-free without high-temperature pressing, and resists staining from coffee, wine and juice.
